Seminar: Research on Outside Study leave

Larry Saha Room - Haydon-Allen Rm 2175.  Presented by Dr Kevin White, Reader, School of Sociology, Australian National University.

In this seminar Kevin White reports on research and publications undertaken while on OSP in the first semester of 2010. Topics covered include his work on ‘Medicine, Religion and the Body’, ‘Medicine the State and Public Health’, work on Avian Flu with Sudeepa Abeysinghe, and research with Dr Michael McGinn and Dr Jeremy Moss (University of Melbourne) on ‘Health, Freedom and Work in Rural Victoria’. The seminar will also outline ongoing research projects and associated publications, for example guest editing a special issue of Health Sociology Review with Dr Fran Collyer (University of Sydney) on privatisation of the Australian healthcare sector.
